Picketers want charges dropped against war protesters

The legal debate that arose after two anti-war activists were arrested in DuPage County spilled into the street Thursday when protesters called on prosecutors to drop the charges.

About two dozen sign-toting protesters rallied outside the county government complex along County Farm Road in Wheaton.

They argue the activists are being wrongly prosecuted and beseeched DuPage State's Attorney Joseph Birkett to dismiss the misdemeanor case.

Hello all~
I really wish I resided even remotely, in the area of these folks, as I would be a STAUNCH supporter of the "Freeway Patriots." I'd be paying those malfeasant, so-called "public servants" a visit, to let them know what I thought!!!

Dissent is no longer tolerated in this country. The "authorities" have seen to that.

It certainly sounds as though the "throwing" contention is bogus. Plus, as was pointed out by the defense attorney, the changing charges suggest desperation by the Powers-That-Be to "get" them on something...anything.

Our Founders are turning in their graves.
